Stanislao writes with his brushes, oils and palette knives pages of intimate and anthropological human conditions. His preferred techniques are charcoal drawing, oil painting and mixed media. Never interested in the surface alone, his work addresses the structural and emotional interior — the density of form and feeling, the spiritual significance of the figure.
He graduates in accountancy in 1993. Following his passion for drawing and painting, he goes on to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, graduating in 1998. These are the years of his first direct encounters with the public: collaborations with artistic associations, frenzied group exhibitions that take him across Sicily.
In 1999 he begins working as a decorator in a workshop of artistic ceramics, learning the art and tradition of the old Sicilian ceramic masters. There he discovers and experiments with clay modelling, which leads him to create his first terracotta sculptures. Determined to build a showcase for his work, he teaches himself the basics of web graphics as a self-taught designer.
Graphic design becomes the profession that steadily accompanies him throughout his entire career. In 2001, during a stay in London, Vincenzo embarks on his career as a web designer at a British publishing house, where he remains for several years. This fulfills his need for creative expression, but never completely: Vincenzo continues to draw and paint, dedicating time and space to his talent.
Back in Italy, Vincenzo commits entirely to painting, working from Trapani — his hometown. His studio practice is centred on the human body as a territory of meaning: bodies in his works are never neutral. They carry the weight of love, the tension of desire, the lightness of play. The kiss — universal and intimate at once — is the recurring symbol that runs through his entire output, from drawing to sculpture to wearable art.
